FASHION WEEK ANNOUNCES 2010 LINEUP

FASHION EAST ANNOUNCES A/W2010 LINEUP

After last season’s brilliantly received show, the Fashion East crew is returning to the atmospheric vaults of Somerset House with another luminary lineup of new talent.

AW10 sees the much anticipated return of Michael van der Ham and Heikki Salonen for a second season, along with the blazing debut of headwear genius Nasir Mazhar.

“This show is always one of the hot tickets of London Fashion Week. Even Victoria Beckham turned out to see what London’s hot new designers had to offer” Elle UK.

Fashion East, a non profit project set up by The Old Truman Brewery in 2000, is proud to announce Topshop as headline sponsor for the fourteenth consecutive season, along with additional support from the London Development Agency.

Nasir Mazhar is “one of the most talked about talents of the moment” (Vogue.com) producing “the most outrageous and out-of-this-world head gear that London has ever seen” (V Magazine). Alongside his independent collections, Nasir’s collaborators have included Gareth Pugh, Richard Nicoll and The Royal Opera House. He has created one-off pieces for Madonna and Lady Gaga and has been celebrated in titles such as Vogue, Purple, Dazed and Confused, Ten and i-D.

Heikki Salonen’s debut collection at Fashion East was declared “chic, cool and effortlessly wearable. We sense a future star” by Elle, and “a successfully cool uniform” by Ten Magazine. Salonen’s strong tailoring and pared down grunge style were an instant hit, with editorial in POP, Wonderland, L'Officiel, Sunday Times, and Vogue. AW10 sees a more sophisticated silhouette and use of luxurious materials.
